As you can see from this
course overview we offer a solid program, but at the
same time there is a possibility for you to do more
of those things you think are the most interesting.
Of course much of our
time is spent making our own movies here at school.
First of all - feature films, but at the same time
we also document things which happen at school, for
example - our trips and journeys. We also make a movie
during our overseas trip.

We also learn how to
work with video equipment which we use in different
exercises as well as when producing a film. We also
use a special editing studio here, which includes
both digital editing via data and analogue technique.
Our school has its own small cinema room, with eleven
seats which is also used in our film studies.
Towards the end of our
school year we make our own, bigger movie. Before
that students have received rich training to be able
to complete different film products by themselves
- both through individual exercises and their own
choice. We also try to take our students to some professional
movie productions. On one occasion we studied how
to make an advertisement which was shown in cinemas
and on TV. When Finnish movie "Badding" was produced
our students were participating and being filmed as

We have a lot of fun
together when we study about film and video and the
fellowship here in our Folk high-school is really
great. Due to the fact that this school is not so
big, we can get to know each other very well here
and also our studies can be more flexible and more
personal than it would be in an ordinary school.
Our hope is that those
young people who would like to work and venture with
film would reach their goal through the knowledge
we teach and provide here.
We have had approximately
ten young people who have gone through the film education
here, who then afterwards have continued and participated
in different TV-productions.
